Sodium DNA (INCI name Sodium DNA) is a sodium salt of high purity deoxyribonucleic acid extracted from male sturgeon gonads (Acipensertransmontanus), a material usually waste in rearing, which has demonstrated important immunomodulatory properties in the dermatological field.
The immunomodulatory effect is based on the ability of the active agent to act directly in the cells using pinocytosis as a transport mechanism.
This process occurs rapidly in cells that are in conditions of "stress" and / or slowing of metabolic activity: which is the case of keratinocytes and fibroblasts of the tissues.
